Travel Tripper Expands Multichannel Connectivity to Include GDS Distribution

New York (October 9th, 2012) It’s a moment that we’ve been waiting for. We are unabashedly excited to unveil the latest development at Travel Tripper: Connectivity to the Global Distribution Systems or GDSs.

Connecting your property to the GDSs will allow hundreds of thousands of travel agents globally to make reservations into your hotel.

With RezTrip’s seamless connection, your property can be listed on Sabre, Amadeus, Worldspan, Galileo, and on Pegasus’ Alternate Distribution Systems or ADS.

Once your property is enabled for GDS, you will find more options and fields as you browse through the user admin interface . Please contact us to learn more about these options and the on-boarding process if your property is new to GDS or you are looking to switch GDS providers.

As a new GDS provider, RezTrip now has its own chain code: XT. Properties that are new to GDS and properties switching from other providers will use this code.

Information about your property is available to GDS agents, including property amenities, policies, dining information, nearby attractions, airports, and other general information. All of this content can be managed through RezTrip and is automatically pushed out to the GDSs and ADSs. If your property is already using RezTrip for website bookings, you are already halfway there. The additional property information can be added through the “About the Property” link, which becomes available once GDS is enabled for your property.

Your property’s publicly accessible rates and negotiated or consortia rates can be easily managed through the Channels page. On this page, you can see a quick summary of the rates sold through the GDS and the viewership / rate loading instructions for each.

If there is no availability at your property, your hotel can opt in to provide availability results of up to five other properties in the same city. This is especially useful for properties with sister hotels. Setting up this configuration is done easily by adding the property information about the other properties.

In availability searches, agents frequently use distance between the property location and various reference points to determine the best fit for the guests. To expedite the process of collecting information, we’ve built in a tool to automatically derive distance information based on the address information entered.

For more pricing flexibility and control, we’ve built Dynamic Pricing Rules into our GDS messaging, meaning any discounts offered through existing DPRs can still apply to rates sold through the GDS. With the ability to select the channels through which to apply the DPRs, your property has even more control in pricing by channel.

A large list of property and room amenities can be promoted through the GDS and ADS channels, and agents frequently use these amenities as criteria for their search. If your property has high-speed internet access, a pool, or coffee in the lobby, you can identify these in RezTrip to be sold on the GDS.

We’ve partnered with VFM Leonardo with to bring you streamlined image management services. Your property can distribute up to 25 images on one platform where the image sizing and distribution to channels are all handled automatically.

In RezTrip, GDS-enabled properties can identify which rate plans are commissionable and specify the percentage to be paid to travel agents. For commission payments, we’ve partnered with WPS Payment Services to process the reservations and remit payment to the travel agents. Using WPS, commissionable reservations made for your property would be interfaced to WPS on a monthly basis and an online tool would be accessible for disputes or verification of payments.
