Introducing Travel Tripper’s new mobile booking engine

Travel Tripper is excited to announce the debut of our new RezTrip mobile booking engine. The completely redesigned mobile platform is modeled after industry best practices in travel booking, focusing strongly on modern, elegant design and user experience to secure hotel reservations quickly and efficiently.

Hotels that have switched to our new mobile booking engine have already seen promising early increases in mobile booking revenue. The Taj Boston, The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel, Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas, and Grand Beach Hotel Surfside West in Miami are among the first hotels to utilize this new solution.

Here are some of the exciting features in the new RezTrip mobile booking engine:

  • Easy-to-use rate calendar
  • Full-width photography
  • TripAdvisor integration
  • Display number of recent reservations
  • Mobile-specific offers

These new user-oriented features come at a time when mobile website traffic has finally surpassed desktop website traffic around the world. Our own data at Travel Tripper shows that just over half of visits to hotel websites now take place via a touchscreen device.

RezTrip’s new mobile booking flow

Guests who book with the new Travel Tripper mobile booking engine will be first prompted to select dates on the brand new rate calendar (pictured below left). Prices shown are based on best available rate (BAR) for each individual day; when travelers select their dates, the price per night will automatically update based on the available rate plans for the dates and length of stay.

Once the guest selects the dates, they are prompted to select from available rooms (featured below right). Cross-out pricing is available to highlight deals on individual rooms.

Hotels can currently customize the booking engine with their colors and branding, as well as showcase the number of recent bookings and a link to TripAdvisor reviews.

Once a room is selected, guests are taken to the room description, where they may read through the amenities and confirm a rate plan. The default rate plan selection can be set to BAR or the cheapest rate, if a special discount rate plan is available. The rate plans are designed to easily highlight important elements, such as discounts and cancellation policies.

The final step is to confirm the booking and complete the payment. The number of form fields on the confirmation page has been reduced in order to streamline the booking process; no physical mailing address is required in this booking flow in order to keep it simple.

For travelers with certain mobile phone operating systems (such as the newest iOS), the booking engine is connected with the autofill form feature within the system so that the traveler no longer needs to type in their name or contact information. If available, the system will also autofill in credit card information using a photo scan of the card.
